Abednego (or Abednigo) was originally from Baltimore, Maryland, but may have owned land in Rutherford County, North Carolina. The book "Carolina Cradle" lists him as one of Pendleton District, South Carolina's early settlers, moving there in 1787, along with a Benjamin Brown. Later, he acquired a large tract of land in Warren County, Tennessee and moved there.
