He was born in Skippack Township, Montgomery County, Pa. After his marriage, he removed to Upper Providence Township, near Oaks Station, Perkiomne R.R., where, as a farmer, he resided many years, and where all his children were born.
He was an exemplary citizen, highly respected by all who knew him. Soon after relinquishing farming he remove to Collegeville, and resided with his son Rev. Joseph H. Hendricks. While at this place he was closely identified with church work and served as an elder of the Trinity Christian Church of the borough up to the time of his death. He met a sudden and sad death by being struck and killed by a locomotive on the Perkiomen R.R. near Collegeville Station.
