Albert William Eggins was born 17 October 1851 in Ewhurst, Sussex, England to William Eggins (1813-1885) and Jane Meppin (1817-1882) and died 18 June 1929 Grafton, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Sophia Page (1858-1940) 30 May 1884 in Grafton, New South Wales, Australia.

The death has occurred at Grafton, of Mr. Albert Eggins, aged 77 years. A native of Sussex (England), he came to Australia with his parents in the sailing ship Washington Irving. The family trekked to the Clarence in 1861. For many years Mr. Eggins was engaged in farming at Alumny Creek, Southgate, and Grafton. He was for 46 years a member of the Clarence Pastoral and Agricultural Society committee, and for several years was president. For more than 40 years he was a member of the hospital committee, and for a period was president. He was a hospital trustee till his death. For 16 years he was an alderman on the Grafton City Council, was a justice of the peace, a trustee of the Methodist Church, and had the interests of the dairying industry greatly at heart, being with Mr G. H. Varley, responsible for the movement which led to the establishment of the Grafton Co-operative Dairy Company, of which Mr Eggins remained chairman till he died. He was also a director of the Co-operative Box Company. He is survived by Mrs. Eggins. Dr. Earle Page, the Federal Treasurer, is a nephew of the deceased.
