Alecu Bagdat was born circa 1783 to Panait Bagdat (c1763-c1820) and died 1844 of unspecified causes. He married Păuna Profira Stamatin (1793-1869) .
After the death of his sister Elena Bagdat, Alecu adopted his nephwew Toma Bagdat (1827-1887).
