Alexander Harrington was born 15 March 1835 in New York, United States to Stephen Harrington (1806-1892) and Sarah Ann Brown (1804-1869) and died after 1920 Chautauqua County, New York, United States of unspecified causes. He married Roxy Ann Waite (1840-1885) 1855 in United States.

Alexander Harrington was born in New York in 1836 to Stephen and Sally Harrington. He lived in Utica when he was young, but later went on to live briefly in Warren County, PA and then in Chautauqua County, NY for the rest of his life. Alexander married Roxanna Waite, and they had 12 children. Alexander remarried to Rilla Harriston 7 years after Roxanna died. Alexander had several different jobs in his lifetime before retiring. He is last known to be living with his son, William, in 1920.

Alexander Harrington was born in March 1836 in New York to Stephen and Sally (Brown) Harrington. Alexander was living in New York with his parents in 1850. In the early 1850s, Alexander married Roxanna Ann Waite, daughter of Edward Waite and Eliza Ann Putnam, in the 1850s. Sometime after their marriage, they went and lived in Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania, according to the 1860 census. He worked as a Sawyer. In 1870, his family was living in Carroll, Chautauqua County, New York where he worked as a farmer. Alexander worked in a brickyard and lived in Poland, Chautauqua County, New York around 1880. In 1885, his wife, Roxy, died. In about 1892, Alexander remarried to Reilla Harriston. In 1900, they were living in Charlotte, Chautauqua County, New York and Alexander worked as a day laborer. The census data mistakenly says that his parents were born in Vermont. In 1910, Alexander was a teamster, and he lived in Ellicott, Chautauqua County, New York. The census data states that his parents were born in New York.

There is an "A. Harrington" mentioned in the obituary of Joshua Pickard (his brother in-law) saying that he attended the funeral in 1915. This could be the same Alexander Harrington. In 1920, Alexander, a widower, is living with his son, William Daniel Harrington in Portville, Cattaraugus County, New York. His occupation is specified as "none." Death information is unknown, except that he is mentioned in book records as being buried in Levant Cemetery in Poland, Chautauqua County, New York. The same lot also lists his sons William and Jack, as well as his grandson Sherrill, and an Elva Harrington. Further information on his second wife, Rilla, is unknown.
