He married Martha Baker (1829-1894) 15 April 1845 in St Peters, Campbelltown, New South Wales, Australia.

Obituary
DECEASE.—Mr. Alexander Nesbitt, of Spring-terrace one of our oldest and much-respected farmers of this district, who has been suffering for some considerable time from diabetes, succumbed to that complaint on last Sunday morning. The deceased gentleman was highly respected by all who had dealings with him, and out of respect to his memory the principal places of business in this town remained closed while the cortege passed through the town. The body was followed to the grave by a number of friends and relations, including the members of tho Good Templars, of which body he was a member.
