Alexander Skene, 11th Laird of Skene was born 1517 in Scotland, United Kingdom to Alexander Skene, 10th of Skene (1499-1517) and Elizabeth Black (c1500-1573) and died 1604 of unspecified causes. He married Elizabeth Forbes (c1520-) 18 March 1541 JL in Scotland, United Kingdom.
Alexander was known as "the little laird".
Contrary to what is stated in one old manuscript, he did not go to the Battle of Pinkie. Privy Seal record: "Ane brieve maid to Alexander Skeyne of yat ilk, giving him leave to remain fra ustin al ye days of his life, because he is wake of complexion and inhabill for travel, vexit with infirmities and sikness, provided alwayis that the said Alexander sends ane habill furnished man, with his household and servants, to the said oistis at St. Andrews, penult October, 1546". The "habill furnished man" he sent was his uncle James Skene (c1505-1547), with fatal result.
