Alexander Stewart, 6th Earl of Galloway, was born circa 1694 to James Stewart, 5th Earl of Galloway (aft1670-1746) and Catherine Montgomerie (1677-1757) and died 24 September 1773 Aix-en-Provence, France of unspecified causes. He married Anne Keith (bef1704-c1728) 1719 . He married Catherine Cochrane (1709-1786) 5 January 1729 .
