He married Hannah Maria Richardson (1834-1904) 25 July 1854 in Maitland, New South Wales, Australia.
He arrived New South Wales 20 November 1838 on the Hero of Malown.
Arrived at age 13-14yrs from Scotland on the 'Hero of Marlow' early 1839 with Mother Nickless (or Nicholas) Welsh and Father John Munsie,
sisters Amelia, Susan and Elizabeth, also brothers James, George, Samuel and John.
