Alexandru Boicescu was born 9 August 1853 in Râmnicu Vâlcea, Vâlcea County, Romania to Anastase Boicescu (1807-1872) and Elena Bârsescu-Coculescu (1811-1864) and died 22 February 1893 Bucharest, Romania of unspecified causes.
Alexandru Boicescu was professor at the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest. A street in Bucharest bears his name. He was the owner of the estates of Palanca, Vâlcea and Icoana, Olt.
