Alfred Ernest Mitchell was born 17 July 1910 in Reids Flat, New South Wales, Australia to Ernest Albert Mitchell (1880-1950) and Minante Porter (1876-1915) and died 3 December 1940 Sacred Heart Hospital, Young, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Eveleen Veronica Dennis (1914-2006) 1937 in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia.

Obituary
The death occurred at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Young, on December 3, of Alfred Ernest Mitchell, of Cowra, at the early age of 30 years, after having been brought from the Tumut Hospital for a serious operation about seven weeks previously. Deceased was born at Keid's Flat, and was married at Bathurst, three and a half years ago, to Miss Eveleen Veronica Dennis, of Shooter's Hill. He is survived by his wife and two children—Leonie, aged 2 years, and Janice, aged 8 months. Also surviving are his father, Mr. Ernest Mitchell, of Cowra, three sisters, Mrs. A. J. Porter, Mrs. D. H. Picker, of Bigga, and Mrs. E. Dickson, of Cowra. and two brothers. Athol and Ronald, both of Bigga. The funeral took place to the Catholic portion of the Cowra Cemetery. Rev. Father Reen, of Cowra, and Rev. Father Gleeson, of Young, the latter having attended the deceased throughout his illness, officiated at the church and later at the graveside.
