Algernon Hubert Cuthell was born 24 June 1879 in Sandy, Bedfordshire, England, United Kingdom to Thomas George Cuthell (1845-1917) and Edith Ellen Foster (1852-1929) and died 22 August 1915 World War I of unspecified causes. He married Rhona Kathleen Adair (1881-1961) 17 October 1906 in Cookstown, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.
In October 1906, Rhona Kathleen Adair (1881-1961) married Algernon Cuthell, an army Captain from West Yorkshire and gave up her career in competitive golf to raise two children in Aldershot. Cuthell was killed in action in the Dardanelles during World War I.[1] After he died she returned to Ireland where she remained supportive of women's golf and rose to be president of the Irish Ladies Golf Union; she was president in 1961 when she died at Portrush in County Antrim.[2]
