Research Notes

Georgia Cenotaph

Haadair1862a

Cenotaph memorial located at Adair Family Cemetery (Jackson County).

in 1862, Henry, the third son, went into the army with Capt Mintz' company, and died with a relapse of measles in a hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn., and was buried there. ~Adair History and Genealogy, Chapter 39, page 249.

With the information on this stone, and the information from the book, and information about the Silverdale Confederate Cemetery in Chattanooga, I firmly believe that Henry may be buried at the Silverdale Confederate Cemetery in the section for 155 unknown soldiers. There just isn't enough proof.
