Deep River Land Grants
Several Orange County Land Grants made to Allred relatives in 1756-1762.
In 1756, several men named Allred/ Alred/ Aldredge/ received land grants from Orange County NC along the Deep River wihich in 1779 split off to become the new Randolph County NC. While it may be easy to conclude that they are all of the same family, other research shows that this may not be the case. It should be noted that the legal process for a land grant was quite slow and could take up to 10 years to close.
