Biography
Rev Andrew Spalding was born 19 November 1656 in Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States to Edward Spalding (1587-1669) and Rachel Needham (1622-1670) and died 5 May 1713 Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States of unspecified causes. He married Hannah Jefts (1654-1730) 30 April 1674 in Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States.
The Spalding Memorial, 1896 edition, page 77, entry #45 records: "Andrew, born November 19, 1652, died May 5, 1713; married Hannah Jefes, daughter of Henry Jefes, of Billerica, Massachusetts, April 30, 1674. She died January 21, 1730. He was the youngest child of Edward, and succeeded, by will of his father, to the paternal estate. He was chosen deacon of the church and held that office at the time of his death. His son Andrew and his grandson Ephraim also held the same office." The Spalding Memorial contains a copy of Andrew Spalding's will. Children recorded within the memorial are as follows; Hannah, Andrew, Henry, John, Rachel, William, Joanna, Benoni, and Mary.
In his father's will he was given the homestead (Chelmsford, MA), which he occupied, and for many years he was a deacon of the church, holding that office at the time of his death.
He was married, April 30, 1674, to Hannah Jefes, daughter of Henry Jefes of Billerica, MA and her death occurred Jan 21, 1730.
