Marriage: | 24/05/1795 St. John, Swansea, Glamorganshire |
Ann Jones was born in approximately 1775 in Wales. The names of her parents and siblings are currently unknown.
It should be noted that on the baptism record of her children, Ann's name was spelt as 'John' and not 'Jones'. 'Jones' was used as her surname on her marriage record. As a result, her surname has not been confirmed with 100% accuracy.
Marriage[]
Ann married on the 24th May 1795 at St John's parish, Swansea, Glamorgan to Thomas Morgan. No parents, witnesses or ages are named on the marriage record.
Children[]
Ann's husband Thomas was a shoemaker and it appears that the family may have been constantly on the move looking for work.
Two known children are recorded for the couple, but there are likely there are others whose baptisms have not been located, or were not recorded. The two children whose baptisms have been located are for twins Thomas and David, baptised on the 4th November 1798 at the parish church at Llandyfodwg, Glamorgan. Twins appear to be genetic in this line of the Morgan family, as twins appear consistently in the next few generations, through son David.
Death[]
Nothing more on Ann's life is currently known and an official record of her death has not been found. Because Ann Jones and Ann Morgan are common name in Wales, it could be sometime before further official information is found.
