Ann Jones was born circa 1816 in Hawkesbury, New South Wales, Australia to William Jones (c1780-1835) and Ann Duck (c1779-1820) and died 19 August 1909 Orange Grove, Allynbrook, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. She married Thomas Garland (1812-1884) 22 April 1833 in Christ Church Cathedral, Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.
Ann Jones was born in NSW c1815. On 12 Aug 1824, at the age of 8, she was admitted to the Orphan School where she stayed until 30 June 1828. On 22 April 1833 she married Thomas Garland who had arrived on the convict ship "York". She died 19 Aug 1909 at Allynbrook, NSW.

- Apprenticed - 12 Aug 1828. Left the Orphanage aged 13yrs and apprenticed as a domestic worker, to the Rev C P N Wilton who was the Chaplin at the Orphanage.

- Burial - 21 August 1909. Saint Mary's Cemetery Allynbrook Paterson NSW. She is buried next to her Husband Thomas.

Obituary
Mrs. Ann Garland died at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. T. Pascoe, senior, of Orange Grove, Allynbrook, on Thursday last, the 19th instant, at the ripe age of 94 years and 11 months. She was a native of the Hawkesbury River and her parents died when she was a child. She was brought to Newcastle and reared where she was married in 1832 to the late Thos. Garland and two years later left Newcastle with her husband to take up their abode at the late Mr. Charles Boydell's at Camyr Allyn. She took passage in a sailing boat for Paterson a trip which occupied eleven days, and was thought a quick run in those times and one day more found them at Mr. Boydell's. She was the first white woman that went to Gresford and has resided on the Allyn and Paterson Rivers ever since.
She had ten sons and two daughters, and seven of the sons are dead leaving Chas. Garland of Allynbrook, Jas. Garland of Bolwarra, Thos. Garland of Singleton, and two daughters Mrs. Thos. Pascoe of Allynbrook, and Mrs. Wm. Sales of Eccleston, besides 78 grandchildren, 180 great grand children, and three great great grand children. The remains were laid to rest beside those of her late husband on Saturday afternoon in the C.E. Cemetery, St. Mary's, Allynbrook. The Rev. G. M. Brown officiated at the grave.
