Biography

Anne migrated to Holland in the mid-1500s. This migration coincides with growth of the Dutch Calvinist religious movement there. England, Spain and other countries were stricly loyal to the church of the state and persecuted rebels vigorously. Holland granted a high level of tolerance to this new religion.
