Biography
Migration to America
Her mother, Charlotte Bishop, died in 1858. Most of Charlotte's family had joined the Mormon Church during the 1840 visit of Wilford Woodruff to Stanford Bishop, Herefordshire. Annie and her older sister Charlotte and two other relatives of the Wood Family traveled to join the Mormons in America, settling in American Fork, Utah.
Mormon Pioneer Overland Travel records list Charlotte (age 10), her sister Annie (age 7) with Jane Wood (age 50) and Ann Wood (age 27) as traveling across the Great Plains in 1861.
Job Pingree Company (1861) / Departure: 7 June 1861 / Arrival: 24 August, 5 September 1861. Company Information: 33 wagons were in the company when it began its journey from the outfitting post at Florence, Nebraska (now Omaha).
