Maximilian von Habsburg-Lothringen was born 8 December 1756 in Vienna, Austria to Franz I. Stephan von Lothringen (1708-1765) and Maria Theresia von Habsburg (1717-1780) and died 27 June 1801 Vienna, Austria of unspecified causes.
His Imperial and Royal Highness Maximilian Franz Xaver Joseph Anton de Paula Wenzel von Habsburg-Lothringen, Archduke of Austria, Prince of Hungary and Bohemia, Prince of Lorraine and Tuscany. Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights. Appointed Archbishop-Elector (Kurfürst) of Köln in 1784. He was the last Archbishop-Elector of Köln as revolutionary France took over the territory in 1794. He then retired in his homeland Austria where he died.
