Arthur Frederick Dumbrell was born 5 April 1863 in Kiama, New South Wales, Australia to William Dumbrell (1815-1876) and Harriet Dearling (1823-1900) and died 20 January 1930 Wagstaffe, New South Wales, Australia of heart failure. He married Margaret Matilda Thurston (1865-1915) 27 July 1889 in Wellington, New South Wales, Australia. He married Clarissa Loveday (1866-1936) 1923 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Obituary
The death occurred suddenly on Saturday, January 18, at Wagstaff, of Mr. Arthur Frederick Dumbrell, aged 66. While returning from a fishing trip with his son, he collapsed and died, about 100 yards from his home. Heart failure was the cause of death.
The late Mr. Dumbrell, was employed as an engine driver in the N.S.W. Railways, and for many years resided at Bulli, on the South Coast. After his retirement, some few years ago, Mr. Dumbrell and family came to Wagstaff. While employed in the Railway service, Mr. Dumbrell was driver of the Melbourne Express, and he was selected as driver of the Royal train during the last visit to Australia of the Prince of Wales. Of a quiet disposition, he was well known and respected by a large circle of friends. A widow and an adult family are left. The interment took place on Monday, January 20, in the Church of England cemetery, Rookwood. Mr. W. Cooke, Woy Woy, handled mortuary ararngements.
