Arthur Hunter Palmer was born 28 December 1819 in Armagh, Ireland to Arthur Palmer (-1836) and Emily Hunter (1797-1826) and died 20 March 1898 "Easton Gray", Toowong, Queensland, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Cecilia Jessie Mosman (1844-1885) 8 June 1865 in Petersham, New South Wales, Australia.

He arrived in Sydney in 1838 on the City of Edinburgh.
