Obituary
Mr. Arthur Flanagan, lately residing in Morrissett-street, was found dead in bed on Saturday morning. The deceased had complained of being unwell for a few days previously, but did not consider that his state of health was of such a nature as to warrant medical attention. He retired to bed as usual on Friday night, and was found dead by a member of his family next morning. The deceased was 45 years of age, and for some time past had been emploved as carter by Mr. D. J. Fitzpatrick, of the Crown Brewery. At one time, he was engaged as trainer by Mr. J. Burton before that gentleman left Bathurst for Sydney. The deceased was a native of Bathurst, and leaves a widow and nine children, the eldest of whom is about 19 years of age and the youngest only an infant. Much sympathy is expressed for the bereaved widow and her large family.
Owing to the fact that no medical man was in attendance prior to death, an inquest will be held at 11 o'clock this morning.
The funeral took place yesterday
afternoon, and was largely attended.
The remains were interred in the Catholic portion of the Bathurst General Cemetery. The Rev. S. H. M'Gee officiated at the mortuary chapel and at the graveside, and Mr. W. Boyd conducted the funeral.
