Obituary

MR. ARTHUR KIDMAN.

The death took place suddenly on Saturday of Mr. Arthur Kidman, one of the pioneers in the exportation of lamb and mutton from Sydney to America. On Friday last he was seized with illness, and was at once removed from his home, Coolong-road, Vaucluse, to a private hospital, where he died on the following afternoon.

Mr. Kidman, who was 58 years of age, was a son of the late Mr. Charles Kidman, of Coogee, and was educated at Newington College. In his early days he was a keen footballer and cricketer, and was also interested in other sports. Mr. Kidman two years ago visited England, France, and America, and last year he went to Honolulu.

He has left a widow (the daughter of the late Mr. David See) and two sons—Mr. Eric Kidman, who is interested in the wool trade, and Mr. Arthur Kidman, who was asoociated with his late father in the meat exporting business.

The interment, which will be made this afternoon at the family vault at St. Jude's churchyard, Randwick, will be preceded at 3 p.m. by a short service in St. Jude's Church.
