The death occurred under sad circumstances at the District Hospital to-day of Mr. Arthur Stanley Mitchell, of Wee Jasper, who was only 43 years of age and is survived by his wife and three children. A native of Yass, the late Mr. Mitchell was a son of Mr. John Mitchell, of Wee Jasper, who survives, and the late Mrs. Mitchell.
Deceased had spent his life in the Yass district, mainly at Wee Jasper.
It is understood death was due to pneumonia and pleurisy. He was only an inmate at the hospital for a few days. The late Mr. Mitchell was employed on the roads by Goodradigbee Shire Council. He is survived by his wife (formerly Miss Ivy McAlister) and three children—two girls, Beatrice (16) and Peggy (13)—and one son, Terry (3 years).
The funeral will be conducted by Mr. D. L. Lawrence from the residence of Mrs. W. Bowden (deceased's sister), Brennan Street, O'Connelltown, at 3 p.m., to-morrow, for the Church of England cemetery.
Returned soldiers are invited to attend.
Deceased served in the Great War with the 45th Battalion.
