Obituary

MR. A. J. NAUGHTON

The death occurred on Friday morning of a well-known grazier in the Gundagai district, Mr. Aubrey James Naughton, aged 60, after a brief illness. He suffered a stroke on Wednesday and failed to rally. Mr Naughton, who was a member of the well-known Naughton family of Gilmore, started in a small way on a Wagragobilly property purchased from P. Mulqueeney. As a result of his capacity for work and his fine judgement of sheep and cattle, the property expanded and became one of the finest in the district. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Elsie, and a son, Mr. H. M. Naughton.

His brother, Mr. Hugh Naughton, arrived by train from Sydney too late to see his brother alive. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon at Wagragobilly.
