Biography

We know the name of Barbarah because of the registration of her burial in the Westfield Parish register.
Except for the christening of Marye in 1602, there is little information from which to estimate the birth dates of the children of John Ransom of Westfield. We do know the birth order of his sons. We know that John was married in 1628 and that Barbara was married in 1623. We know that Thomas had an illegitimate child 1617, so he was probably close to 20 years old at that time. But if John were born much earlier than that, he would be quite old at the time of his marriage. We can probably infer from the absence of mentioned ages in the will of John Ransom (the elder), that all of the children were at least 21 years old in 1627.
