- Benjamin Collings at Find A Grave
Died in his 70th year. Inscriptions on Gravestones in the Old North Cemetery, Truro, Mass. 1718-1840, p. 9.
There is a debate about the spelling of his last name. It appears that the Collings spelling (with a "g" at the end) historically was correct but that it evolved into the Collins spelling sometime during either the period in which he lived or in a generation or two before his. Both spellings seemingly are correct for this period of time. The same spelling is found on his wife's gravestone.
