Blackheath is a village in Surrey near Guildford, often called Blackheath Village in order to distinguish it from Blackheath in south east London. Coordinates:
The settlement appears in the Domesday Book as Blacheatfeld. Blackheath was a hundred (these are not marked on the Surrey map, which shows only Domesday manors), an administrative area, where local leaders met about once a month.[1]
