Biography

Died at Mink Creek, 24-Aug-1916, buried 3 days later at Mink Creek Cemetery. FindAGrave photo of cemetery headstone confirms birth and died dates.
Carl and his family originally resided in Oland Denmark, but then later moved to Copenhagen after the birth of their first child (between 1871-1873). Between the birth and death of their young child, Jens Peter, (May 1881-Oct 1882) they had migrated to Mink Creek Idaho.
Mink Creek is located just 12.5 miles north east of Preston Idaho and it looks to have been settled by a number of Danish Mormon immigrant families in the 1870s-1880s. You can see that a number of children inter-married other Danish families living in the same small community.

It is the main town and the administrative seat of Hjørring Municipality in the North Jutland Region. The population is 25,951 (according to an official census carried on 1 January 2024). It is also one of Denmark's oldest towns, having celebrated its 750th anniversary as a market town in 1993.
