Alternative medicine encompasses identical methods used in both Complementary medicine and Alternative medicine, known collectively as Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). These methods are used in place of ("alternative to"), or in addition to ("complementary to"), conventional medical treatments. The terms are primarily used in the western world, and include several traditional medicine techniques practiced throughout the world.
The process of creating categories and lists is ongoing – they are neither complete nor up-to-date – so if you see an article that should be categorized here but is not, please place it in a subcategory here first, and then add it to the List of alternative medicine subjects. This category and the list should match each other.
For a list of articles in this category that need some further work, see Category:Alternative medicine stubs.
