Asian-American film directors

This category lists citizens of the United States of full or partial Asian origin or descent who have been film directors. NOTE: This category was started as "Asian American Filmmakers" and included Asian Americans who work behind the camera, not only as directors, but in other capacities. It was changed to the current category title of "film directors" but is not limited to directors only. Perhaps it should be retitled "American filmmakers of Asian descent." NOTE: The category "American Filmmakers of Asian Descent" does not follow the format of other pages, such as "African-American film directors" and "American women film directors." Perhaps it should be retitled "Asian-American film directors."
