- Statutory Professors (in subcategories according to their chair, where applicable)
- Holders of personal chairs
- College Fellows (who should also be categorised in "Category:Fellows of X College, Oxford"
- (from previous centuries) those who held university-level appointments without a college fellowship.
People who held only college-level appointments falling short of a fellowship (e.g. college lecturer in law) are not within the scope of this category (nor "Category:Academics of the University of Oxford", since such appointments are not defining for category purposes.
