For more information, see Military brat and Military brat (U.S. subculture).
The term Military brat is used to describe the child of a person in the military, who also identifies themselves, or who is identified, as a member of the unique subculture of military children and teenagers. It does not include children of parents who happened to be serving in the military when the children were born or growing up, who grew up without this cultural experience.
