The Thankful Villages is a list of the villages of England and Wales which lost no men in World War I. The 32 villages were identified by the writer Arthur Mee in the 1930s. The list was subsequently expanded to 51 villages, including 13 doubly-thankful villages that also did not lose any men in World War II.
