Catherine Beasley Holladay Akers was born 24 November 1824 in Camden, Kershaw County, South Carolina, United States to John Holladay (1798-1862) and Catherine Beasley Higgins (1797-1877) and died 5 October 1896 San Bernardino, San Bernardino County, California, United States of unspecified causes. She married Larkin Braxton Akers (1817-1894) 12 April 1842 in Marion County, Alabama.

The Holladay Family joined the Mississippi Saints 1846 Pioneer Company and left Marion County, Alabama and left to follow Brigham Young (1801-1877) and the Mormon Saints in settling in the Rocky Mountains. All except young Catherine Hollday and her young husband as his family refused to go. This couple would later travel west circa 1856 to the Mormon colony at San Bernardino, California and be reunited with parts (?) of her family there.
