Catherine Crites Wood was born 4 December 1797 in Osnabruck, Stormont Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada to Johann George Crites (1764-1819) and Margaret Cryderman (1765-1837) and died 2 January 1879 Midway, Wasatch County, Utah, United States of unspecified causes. She married David Wood (1799-1871) 17 March 1818 in Cornwall, Stormont Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada.

Approximately 275 people in 58 wagons departing from Kanesville, Iowa on June 6, 1852 and arriving in Salt Lake City on 1852 September 20 – October 1. This company traveled under the leadership of David Wood (1799-1871), a Canadian convert to the LDS Church.
