Ancestry
Kate's ancestry has been traced to Edward III of England in more than one way, though parts of the Fairfax line leading up to three of those lines are disputed. There is reasonable evidence to suppose that she descends also from Mary Boleyn (1503-1543), sister of the ill-fated Anne Boleyn and presumed mistress of Anne's future husband Henry VIII of England.
Her more recent ancestry is largely working-class or middle-class, with her father's side showing some clergy and professionals though dominated by tradesmen and their wives.
