Obituary

After a lengthy illness, death claimed one of Berry's most highly respected residents, in the person of Mr. Charles Broughton Jarrett, last week. Born at Berry, the deceased was 49 years of age, and had lived here all his life, following farming interests. He was a good farmer, and the property on Coolangatta Road, was a credit to him. He followed in the foot steps of his father, the late John Jarrett, and, like his mother always took a keen interest in the affairs of the Berry A. and H. Association; he showed cattle and vegetables in his early manhood, but his health would not allow of his participating in those activities extensively as he would have wished. On the death of his father, eight year ago, the deceased took over the management of the farm. He was married at Stanmore to Miss Lilian Phillips, who is left to mourn the loss of a devoted husband, and much sympathy goes out to her in her sad bereavement. There are no children
