Obituary
Mr. CHARLES DAVIS, sen., of Palmer's Channel, passed away on Sunday night, after a week's illness from pneumonia. The deceased was 68 years of age, and was one of a well-known family of brothers. He was a native of England and had resided on the Lower Clarence for a number of years. He leaves a family of eleven—four sons and seven daughters. The sons are Messrs. F. C., H., and Masters Peter and Albert Davis. The daughters are Mrs. W. Selman (Maclean), Mrs. E. Marsh (Palmer's Island), Mrs. W. Lee (Lower Southgate), and Mrs. J. Smith (Taloumbi), and three unmarried. The deceased also leaves fourteen grandchildren and four brothers—Lavender, John, Peter and Samuel—all residents of the district. The remains were interred yesterday in the Wesleyan cemetery, Maclean, the funeral being largely attended. Mr. Dug. Macdonald carried out the funeral arrangements, and Rev. G. B. Black officiated at the grave.
