Fraser Walls was born 20 February 1941 in Wellington Region, New Zealand to Charles Llewellyn Walls (1908-1991) and Kathleen Fraser Stone (1912-1984) and died 6 December 2019 New Zealand of heart failure. He married Stephanie Anne Carrad (1945) in Wellington Region, New Zealand.

Fraser obtained a B.Sc. in Physics then became a secondary school teacher (of Science, Mathematics, and Photography), first in the Hutt Valley then at Motueka. He had a major hand in building a total of four houses for his family, while building several boats and carving splendid objects out of wood and being a devoted husband and father. Tararua trampers saw him often too.

On the day of his death one of his daughters posted a lengthy eulogy on her Facebook status. One of several dozen responding friends said, "So sorry to hear. I have fond memories of him both at school and at pony club. Lots of love to you all. Please give everyone a hug from me. He will be well missed". Another friend wrote, "... I'm sorry to hear that. I remember him well particularly the epic trip into the Abel Tasman in sixth form. And his jokes with Mr Ching in class. My thoughts and prayers are with you."

A remembrance ceremony was held at his home the following month, attended by his sister and her husband and Stephanie's siblings and their spouses and a good number of his children, grandchildren, and other relatives and local friends.
