Charles Gosper was born 15 September 1838 in Colo, New South Wales, Australia to John Gosper (1801-1886) and Hannah Beale Reynolds (1806-1888) and died 27 April 1920 Bocobra, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Mary Ann Penton (1848-1929) 14 January 1869 in Richmond, New South Wales, Australia.

Obituary
The death occurred at his residence, Bocobra, on Tuesday morning last of an old and highly respected resident of the district in the person of Mr Charles Gosper, senr.
The deceased gentleman was a native of Colo, Hawkesbury River, and was 81 years of age. For some considerable time past he had been a great sufferer, which he bore with Christian fortitude and patience. Death came as a relief to him. The late Mr Gosper settled at Bocobra about 44 years ago, where he engaged in grazing and agricultural pursuits with more or less success. He was a man of many sterling qualities, and was held in high esteem by all who made his acquaintance. He was a good neighbour, and always ready to extend a helping hand to anyone in trouble or in need of assistance, and his demise will be mourned by a large circle of friends. The deceased gentleman is survived by a widow, and three sons and four daughters, viz., Charles and Thos. (Bocobra), Samuel (Molong), Mrs Arthur Sharpe (Burdett), Mrs George Sharpe (Yeoval), Mrs Hobson (Orange), Miss L. Gosper (Bocobra).
The interment took place at the Meranburn cemetery on Wednesday, the funeral cortege being a large one.
