Charles Monson was born 28 July 1873 in Port Sorell, Tasmania, Australia to Daniel Monson (1852-1940) and Anna Ling (1852-1890) and died 25 May 1956 Caulfield, Victoria, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Ada May Boon (1882-1952) 27 January 1904 in Methodist Church, Bracknell, Tasmania, Australia.
