Charlotte Holmes Davis King was born 11 November 1852 in Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii to Robert Grimes Davis (1819-1872) and Harriet Swain Hammet (c1820-1858) and died 17 August 1915 Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, United States of unspecified causes. She married James Anderson King (1832-1899) 1882 in Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii.

Charlotte Holmes Davis, daughter of Robert Grimes Davis. She was the great-granddaughter of Oliver Holmes, an early settler and Governor of Oʻahu, who had married into Hawaiian nobility. Her uncle William Heath Davis (1822–1909) moved to Alta California in the 1830s. She married James Anderson King (1832-1899), a Scottish shipmaster who later became the interior minister for the newly formed Republic of Hawaii in 1893.
