Charlotte Mary Harley was born 12 December 1801 in Marylebone, Greater London, England, United Kingdom to Edward Harley, 5th Earl of Oxford and Earl Mortimer (1773-1848) and Jane Elizabeth Scott (1774-1824) and died 9 March 1880 Stanhope-place, Hyde Park, Westminster, Greater London, England, United Kingdom of unspecified causes. She married Anthony Bacon (1796-1864) 4 March 1823 in Paris, France.
She stayed with relatives in South Australia between 1869 and 1874, and Charlotte Waters, Northern Territory was named in her honour by R. R. Knuckey and G. R. McMinn in 1871.
