Charlotte Murray, 8th Baroness Strange, Lord of Mann, was born 13 October 1731 to James Murray, 2nd Duke of Atholl (1690-1764) and Jane Frederick (c1693-1748) and died 13 October 1805 Barochey House, Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom of unspecified causes. She married John Murray, 3rd Duke of Atholl (1729-1774) 23 October 1753 in Dunkeld, Perthshire, Scotland, United Kingdom. Charlemagne (747-814)/s, Henry II of England (1133-1189)/s, Willem van Oranje (1533-1584)/s, William I of England (1027-1087)/s.
She inherited the sovereignty of the Isle of Man from her father on his death but sold it to the British government in 1765 for £70,000 and an annuity of £2,000 per year.
