Obituary

MRS CLARA BOON

One of Gundagai's esteemed personalities, Mrs Clara Boon, died in the Gundagai District Hospital on Sunday last.

The late Mrs Boon, who was 86 years of age, was a member of the well-known Jones family of Tomorroma.

All her life has been spent in the Gundagai district.

The deceased was a wonderful woman, and loved by all who knew her. She was the mother of a family of thirteen children, twelve of whom survive.

Affectionately known as 'Granny' the late Mrs Boon was a kindly soul, who was ever ready to help anyone in need, and it could be truly said of her that she was a small woman with a very big heart.

Her husband, the late Mr George Boon, predeceased her by 25 years.

Surviving members of the Boon family are Mrs Naughton (Wagra), Mrs Withers (Tarrabandra), Messrs Herb, Reg, Jim, Bruce, Fued, Bert, Jack. Arthur (all of Queensland) George (Gundagai) and Pat Boon, (Sydney).

The funeral took place yesterday pfternoon, the interment being at the South Gundagai Church of England Cemetery, where Rev G. E. Morris officiated at the graveside.

The casket was carried by Messrs George and Pat Boon (sons), Bede Ryan, Ernie Withers, Herb Scheuner and Audie Naughton.
