Comis was a dignitary rank in Moldavia and Wallachia. The title was instated in the 15th century

The comis was in charge of the court's horses. He was also responsible of the fodder for the horses and of the administration of the pastures. The Great Comis was a member of the sfatul domnesc (princely council).

The Great Comis had several aides: the second comis, the third comis, the rahtivan and several comișei (sing. comișel).
