David Gardiner was born 2 May 1784 in East Hampton, New York, United States to Abraham Gardiner (1763-1796) and Phebe Dayton (1757-1810) and died 28 February 1844 USS Princeton disaster of 1844 of cannon explosion. He married Juliana MacLachlan (1799-1864) 18 September 1815 in Long Island, New York, United States.
