"Here Lyes ye Body of Deliverance Wheeler Aged 53 Years who Departed this life Febuary the 4th 1715/16 The Memory of him is Blessed. "

Will of Deliverence Wheeler

Deliverance died at Stow, Massachusetts on Feb. 4, 1714/5, aged 53 years. He is buried in the Lower Village Cemetery at Stow. His Deliverance died intestate. After his death his widow Mary Wheeler and Ebenezer Davis petitioned the court for her appointment to administer Deliverance's estate. The inventory submitted to the court on May 14, 1716 was valued at L699 6s, with lands valued at L600 and included a 262 acre homestead, with orchards and additional meadows, commons and acreage in Pine Swamp. On April 19, 1720 an inventory, survey and submission of debts was ordered, with widow Mary being appointed administratrix.

Named in the court records are:

  • Widow Mary Wheeler
  • eldest son Deliverance, of age
  • second son Thomas, of age
  • minors children Ephraim and Mary

His widow Mary died there on June 27, 1748.

Research Notes =

  1. Parthiana is not in birth records or mentioned in Deliverance's will, which makes me suspicious that perhaps she doesn't belong to this family, but apparently the "Wheeler Genealogy" by Raymond David Wheeler indicates that she belongs here. This should be confirmed.
